The Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory course is an intensive 5 days course that is highly recommended for all discerning skippers who are contemplating the Yacht Master practical exam.
The course refreshes part of the Day Skipper syllabus and also teaches the more complex aspects of navigation including secondary ports, passage planning, navigation in restricted visibility, course shaping and pilotage. Time will also be spent on meteorology, the collision regulations and safety at sea.
GPS has become a primary tool for navigation so modern electronic aids are an important part of the syllabus.
The course covers all aspects of the practical exam syllabus and will give you an excellent foundation to develop your practical skills in a positive and safe manner.
