Yachting should be a very safe leisure sporting activities and 99.9% of yachtsmen will never use their life-raft. However, it is a well proven fact that in the event of an emergency at sea, people who have received training are more likely to survive.
This course covers preparation for survival, lifejackets, medical issues and search and rescue techniques. It includes a practical session in a swimming pool with a life-raft so you can experience first hand the problems of entering an inflated, uncooperative life-raft whilst fully kitted out in waterproof clothing and a lifejacket.
This course is a must for anyone going to sea. It is the best RYA course available and may well save your life one day.
