Round Ireland Race 2008
The BMW Round Ireland Race provides 700 miles of extremely competitive racing starting on Saturday 21st June. We are looking at the option of entering a Figaro 2 race boat skippered by one of our leading race skippers, Andy Greenwood.
The Figaro2 is a 34 foot racing yacht designed for La Solitaire Figaro race that takes place every year. Andy Greenwood will be competing in La Solitaire Figaro 2008, a single handed offshore race around Europe that starts in July. The race attracts many of the world’s best offshore racing skippers.
Andy is planning to race in the BMW Round Ireland Race as a warm up and to learn more about the intricacies of the Figaro boat. The Figaro 2 is a fantastic offshore race yacht that has proven extremely competitive under IRC. Groupe Partouche won several RORC offshore races in the 2006 season.
The BMW Round Ireland campaign includes two training weekends, three qualifying races, deliveries to Ireland and the race.
