| Prior Experience: | 5 days aboard a yacht, 100 sea miles logged and Day Skipper theory or have knowledge equivalent to it. |
The Day Skipper course will prepare you to skipper a yacht for the first time. By the end of the course you should have the necessary skills to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters during the day in good conditions. The Day Skipper certificate is normally the minimum requirement to charter a yacht.
The course will take you through the basic skippering techniques, always under the watchful eye of the instructor. You will learn the basics of navigation, pilotage, anchoring, mooring both on pontoons and buoys and will practice man over board techniques and recovery.
